The US Open 2008 has only just finished but already thoughts have moved to the US Open 2009 which will take place at Bethpage State Park Golf Course in Farmingdale, New York on the weekend of 18th June 2009 to 22nd June 2009.

The Bethpage State park was the first publicly owned and operated golf course to host the US Open when it hosted the 2002 US Open. The US Open had previously always being held at private golf clubs or country clubs.

The Bethpage park has 5 18 hole golf course, called black, blue, red green and yellow. They range in difficulty with the black course being the hardest, and that is the one which played host to the US Open in 2009.

Tiger Woods has just announced he will miss the rest of the 2008 season with a knee injury but he is sure to want to get back out and playing in time for the 2009 US Open Golf Tournament as he won there back in 2002.

The Bethpage Black course looks a good choice for the US Open Golf 2009 as it produced a really exciting and difficult course when it hosted before with only Tiger Woods managing to break par.
