Singer Plant rules out Led Zeppelin reunion

NY Giantsw tickets continue to flood the ticket marketplace, fans can score tickets cheap to most games !

As NY Giants tickets continue to flood the ticket marketplace, fans can score cheap tickets to most games !

There are many reasons as to why the World Champion NY Giants tickets are plentiful on the resale market this year.

Tom Wilson at Tixx.com reports that many fans are sick of the tight parking and lack of tailgating this year and last year. Wilson states, "Even if you have a season parking pass, your friends have to park their cars miles away and ride a bus to the stadium; therfore cutting down on the fun of going to a game. You are not allowed on the buses with a beer or a cooler, and you are not allowed to tailgate at all in these remote offsite parking lots, and you can not tailgate in the onsite parking deck at Giants stadium..
Giants fans who never sold their tickets in an open marketplace are now selling them. The original season ticket purchaser of the seats from 30-50 years ago is no longer alive, and many families use their Giants tickets as more of an annuity that makes them money each year states Wilson.

Tickets for the Giants vs. Seattle Seahawks this week were going for less than face value for some seats on the website www.tixx.com. Prices ranged from $65 to $200 each for all types of tickets and parking passes that last year commanded a huge premium of $100 dollars and more, are going for just 45-60 dollars each."The bottom line", states Wilson, "a lot of fans who do not own season tickets are taking the year off and watching the games from the comfort of their homes on a big screen tv".

The fans that are still looking to see a Giants game live are seeing great values compared to the prices that the tickets will cost in just a few years when the team moves to the new stadium and charges three times for tickets what they are going for now .

What's on (and off) Broadway this season

What's on (and off) Broadway this season
BY CHRISTINE DOLEN
Shrek, that cuddly green giant who fueled a movie franchise, is making his Broadway debut this season. So is Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter), in Equus and in the buff. Tom Cruise's current Mrs., Katie Holmes, is braving critical slings and arrows in a revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons.
Those three shows, and the long-awaited arrival of the hit British musical Billy Elliot, are among the most buzzed-about productions as the 2008-2009 Broadway season gets under way. But there's more, much more, plus a collection of intriguing plays (and the odd musical) bound for Off-Broadway theaters.

Though Broadway's major tourist draw is its big musicals, plenty of promising plays will hit the Great White Way this season.
http://www.miamiherald.com/living/travel/story/698844.html
Frank Langella, returning to Broadway after winning a Tony Award for playing ''Tricky'' Dick Nixon in Frost/Nixon (a role he's reprising in the upcoming movie), will play Sir Thomas More in a revival of A Man for All Seasons. Movie veteran Kristin Scott Thomas is making her Broadway debut in a production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull, revisiting a performance that earned her raves in England. In the spring, more great actresses will tackle the classics: Mary-Louise Parker in Hedda Gabbler, British stage star Janet McTeer in Mary Stuart. Also expected on Broadway this season: Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen (directed by Tony winner Jack O'Brien in Michael Jacobs' Impressionism. Off-Broadway, Jane Alexander (who also led the National Endowment for the Arts during the Clinton administration) will star in the Primary Stages production of Tina Howe's comedy Chasing Manet in the spring.

If you prefer plays that are American and edgy, a pair of David Mamet revivals and the Broadway debut of the always-provocative Neil LaBute (who will have a second new play Off-Broadway) should fill the bill.

Miami's own Raúl Esparza stars opposite Jeremy Piven (of TV's Entourage) and Elisabeth Moss (of Mad Men) in Mamet's scathing look at the movie business, Speed-the-Plow. Then John Leguizamo, Cedric the Entertainer and a grown-up Haley Joel Osment tackle American Buffalo, an explosive dark comedy set in a junk shop. LaBute's play, reasons to be pretty (which will star Piper Perabo, Allison Pill and Pablo Schreiber, with Steppenwolf veteran Terry Kinney directing), will start previews in February at a still-to-be-chosen theater. Right about the same time, MCC Theater will debut LaBute's The Break of Noon, about an agnostic guy who gets religion.

As for big musicals, both new and revivals, there are several in addition to Shrek the Musical and Billy Elliot, both based on hit movies. With a score by one of the movie's original stars, Dolly Parton, 9 to 5: The Musical hits Broadway in the spring. A revival of Pal Joey, the Richard Rodgers-Lorenz Hart musical about an ambitious nightclub entertainer who romances an older woman (in this case, Stockard Channing from West Wing) will play Studio 54.

AC/DC Brian Johnson gets ready to rock ...on Casey Key Florida before the tour

It's where the elite meet

Brian and Brenda Johnson, Sarasota's rock royalty, are on the cutting edge of redefining the colloquialism "party like a rock star."

"Camping is really the great equalizer," Brenda said.

"Turtle beach campsite has a dock and boat slips across the street, so we drove a boat to the Field Club for lunch, said Angie Gomes. "Then we went to Casey Key; there is a dolphin that comes right up to your boat."

Brenda and Brian got "hooked on camping" about 17 years ago. For the Johnsons, camping is the ultimate relaxation. The new definition? A laptop, couple of bikinis for the petite green-eyed Brenda, stereo system for Brian, a coffeemaker and an Airstream RV to park at Turtle Beach Park campsite.

Brian Johnson, lead singer for the phenomenally successful rock band AC/DC, will kick off a tour of North America, South America, Europe and Asia in October to support his new album, "Black Ice."

For a Hall of Fame legend like Johnson, touring equals insanity.

Brenda, band manager to budding rock groups, Bad Sara and 7 Years Past, is the most thoughtful of spouses. She tries to simplify Brian's life during AC/DC tours.

So while Brian toiled under the hot lights of a photo shoot in New York, enduring the intolerably prying questions of Rolling Stone magazine writers, Brenda packed their Airstream and invited a few friends for a week of simple decompression. "Brian flew in from New York and came straight here," Brenda said.

From a five-star Fifth Avenue hotel, tariff, $1,100 to $16,000 per night to the quiet serene beauty of Turtle beach, $300 bucks for the week? Yep, the perfect precursor to the upcoming tour.

"I live on the water," said Johnson, clad in flip-flops and short-shorts, without a trace of makeup or a wrinkle on her tanned face, "but you can't beat this water view. It is so beautiful here."

Not exactly what you were expecting the camping crowd to look like? Don't judge these books by their covers; Brenda was a Girl Scout and Brian was a Sea Scout, Britain's equivalent of our Boy Scout program.

Add Norman Gomes and his wife, Angie, and the joint really starts rockin'.

Gomes is known in the music business as one of the best tour-riggers in the industry. He is currently on tour with the Dave Matthews band. He took a short break after Billy Joel's sold-out Shea Stadium concert, which included a surprise appearance by Sir Paul McCartney.

"Lot of fun," he smiled.

Now, like Brian Johnson, Gomes has a short break between gigs. He and Angie accepted Brenda's invitation to party at Turtle Beach for Angie's 40th birthday.

"We talked about a cruise or maybe going abroad, but we love camping with the Johnsons," Gomes said. "We actually bought our first Airstream from Brian.

"He signed it over the door."

"We bought our first Airstream about 17 years ago, for our vintage car racing," Brenda said. "We got hooked on camping. It really is the great equalizer." Johnson adds that "at around $300 a week off-season, anyone can camp at Turtle Beach."

Camping, she said, has really helped the Johnson family realize how little they truly need to be happy. Johnson lists their favorite camping sites as Turtle Beach, Anastasia Park in St. Augustine and Key West. "We've met the most wonderful people."

Johnson also invited longtime friends Frank and Dorothy Bates, owners of Bates RV in Venice and Tampa.

Johnson, Bates and Gomes could easily afford to vacation wherever they chose, "but you can't beat the view at Turtle Beach," Brenda said. "And you really get to bond in a different way with people.

"I love the camaraderie."

Frank Bates laughed, "I can't open the door and sit in the hall, barefoot, at the Ritz, and you can't buy this view of Siesta Beach."

"Some campers were here from Switzerland," Brenda said. "Brian asked them what they did, they were Swiss bankers. Then there are folks here who don't have a lot. Strangers helped me connect the electricity and the cable."

Johnson decorated the campsite with tiki torches and paper lanterns for Angie's birthday. Neighboring campers brought wine and joined the celebration. Johnson softly cranked his music, hammocks swayed gently in the Siesta Key breeze; a good time was had by all.

The next morning at 9 a.m., the athletic contingent, essentially Brenda, returns from a beach hike. The Gomes stir slowly. Norm, spraying for ants, Angie shares a muffin with Brenda. They slowly sip their coffee and take in the beauty that surrounds them.

In the past week, they have enjoyed grilling marvelous dinners under the stars, a "spa day," that included pedicures and manicures, kayaking and beach hikes.

No ringing phones or faxes -- instead, stunning sunsets and witnessing "the most incredible rainbow halo around the moon," Brenda marveled.

"We laughed, Brian told jokes, and stories," and they commune with what Brenda calls "the best-kept secret in Sarasota."

The Dead, Allmans To Rock For Obama at Penn State

The Dead, Allmans To Rock For Obama
The Dead and the Allman Brothers Band have signed for a Barack Obama fundraising concert, to be held Oct. 13 at Bryce-Jordan Center in State College, Pa. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Sept. 19).

"We're all deeply into this, into Barack Obama and the thought of taking this country back in some shape or form, what's left of it -- it's probably one thing we can all agree on," Dead drummer Mickey Hart told Billboard.com in July. The group reunited in February for a similar Obama fundraiser in San Francisco.

The Pennsylvania Campaign for Change is sponsoring the show and its related voter outreach campaign.

NY Giants suck ...there i said it ... as they try to sell PSL ..they selll cant sell game 1 tickets for face value

taking a look at ticketmaster.com for the Giants home opener tonight ...they can sell out the stadium .....ticketmaster has plenty of tickets in the upper level for tonights game ...looks like Giants fans are pissed ....when you can sell out a home game after winning the super bowl you got problems
