Bon Jovi Charges Down The 'Highway' On New CD & tour

Bon Jovi Charges Down The 'Highway' On New CD
Bon Jovi

March 19, 2007, 11:05 AM ET

Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
Bon Jovi will release its next album, "Lost Highway," June 19 via Island/Mercury Nashville. First single "(You Want To) Make a Memory" hits radio tomorrow (March 20); the group will perform it live April 16 during the CMT Awards in Nashville, May 2 on "American Idol" and June 19 on NBC's "Today."

Two other album cuts have already been utilized in TV and film; the title song is featured in the trailer for the John Travolta comedy "Wild Hogs," while "We Got It Going" featuring Big & Rich serves as the theme for ESPN's coverage of the Arena Football League.

The Dann Huff- and John Shanks-produced "Lost Highway" is the follow-up to 2005's "Have a Nice Day," which has sold 1.4 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The album's single, "Who Says You Can't Go Home" featuring Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, the first time in almost 30 years that a top billed non-country artist has reached No. 1 with their first attempt at the country chart. It hadn't happened since pop crooner Tom Jones did so with "Say You'll Stay Until Tomorrow" in 1977.

Bon Jovi has yet to announce tour plans; the group finished 2006 with the No. 3 tour according to Billboard Boxscore, grossing $131 million.

New METALLICA tour dates for this summer !

METALLICA has confirmed rumors that it will perform at the Wembley Stadium in London, England on July 8. "This is the newly rebuilt Wembley Stadium we're talking about, freshly delivered in time for us to test its barely dry foundations with a little live 'TALLICA," the band writes on its web site. "Remember, we've only played the stadium once before, at the Freddie Mercury benefit gig back in Spring of '92, so to play it now as headliners, especially the brand spankin' new one, is very, very cool... We'll also be bringing a few of our friends along to add to the festivities ...and between you and us, there's still another fun time or two on our European escape to announce...and as ever, when they get OFFICIALLY confirmed, you'll see them posted here...until then..."

for tickets go to www.tixx.com or the late Summer Van Halen Tour

The group's "Sick Of The Studio '07" tour schedule is now shaping up as follows:

Jun. 28 - Lisbon, Portugal - Super Bock Super Rock Festival
Jul. 01 - Werchter, Belgium - Rock Werchter Festival
Jul. 03 - Athens, Greece - Rockwave Festival
Jul. 05 - Vienna, Austria - Rotundenplatz
Jul. 08 - London, England – Wembley Stadium
Jul. 10 - Oslo, Norway - Valle Hovin Stadion
Jul. 12 - Stockholm, Sweden - Stadion
Jul. 13 - Aarhus, Denmark - Vestereng
Jul. 15 - Helsinki, Finland - Olympic Stadium
Jul. 18 - Moscow, Russia - Lushniki Stadium

METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich told a New York radio program on March 2 that the band is laying down 14 songs for its ninth studio album, which the group officially began recording on March 12.

Unlike the troubled, turbulent sessions for the band's last album, 2003's "St. Anger", Ulrich told Launch that pre-production for the new effort has had a whole different vibe. "It's frighteningly tame (laughs)," he said. "The four of us show up and we hang out and we have a great time, and there are no psychiatrists in sweaters, there are no film crews, it's very much like it used to be. It's pretty mellow around here. All that 'St. Anger' stuff seems like a movie (laughs)."

The group plans to work in the studio until early June, take a break for its European tour, then finish recording in August. As for whether METALLICA will release the new album in 2007, Ulrich said, "I'd like to try and get it out this year, I hope we can get it out this year. If it doesn't come out this year, then it will be out at the very beginning of next year." Howard Stern will have he US tour dates next week

The New York Post reports that ticket scalping

The New York Post reports that ticket scalping could soon be legal in New York. The state's current anti-scalping law limits the markup on the resale of tickets to no more than $5, or 20 percent, above face value at venues with fewer than 6,000 seats. But, it’s set to expire in June, and for the first time, Broadway-theater owners and producers aren’t opposed to lifting the state cap.

Gov. Spitzertold the Post: "My view has always been that the laws don't work … The reason the laws don't work is it's the only product I know where we are regulating the secondary market but we don't set a price for the primary market. It makes no sense."

Theater movers and shakers do, however, recommend that the state maintain its ban on street scalping within 1,500 feet of a venue.

Bob Seger Summer tour dates with Kid Rock

Seger talks about his summer plans

March 15, 2007

BY BRIAN McCOLLUM

FREE PRESS POP MUSIC WRITER

With his 50-city run closing Saturday night at Cobo Arena, the tour road is ending for Bob Seger and his Silver Bullet Band.

But is it the end of the road for Seger?

The Michigan icon, who will turn 62 in May, says he’s not sure where it goes from here. A desire for more family time could push him back out of the public eye, he says — just as it did in the decade leading up to this latest flurry of activity.

Still, with a handful of potential summer dates in the wings — and demands from promoters for more — Seger isn’t putting a firm cap on anything just yet. And he’s got enough to keep his hands full this week, with Cobo shows tonight and Saturday that will include a goosed-up set list, film and audio crews taping for possible releases, and scheduled appearances by fellow Detroit stars Uncle Kracker and Kid Rock.

Seger talked with the Free Press on Wednesday, a day after the Joe Louis Arena performance that commenced his tour-closing homecoming week.

ON HIS SUMMER PLANS: “We got these really big offers in Calgary and Milwaukee, and we had talked about a Canadian summer tour anyway. We only played Toronto (on the winter tour). It was a matter of the routing, because of the nature of the way we play — only Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays. That’s the optimum for us, which means you can only play so many dates, and there were a bunch of places we missed. So I floated the idea awhile back: What about a little swing through Canada?

“We might build something around that. The Milwaukee Summerfest, Minnesota — probably Minneapolis. For some strange reason, it works, because it happens to coincide with Grand Funk’s tour (featuring Seger drummer Don Brewer). But the downside would be Donnie has to play 10 straight gigs! (Laughs) So I have to weigh that.

“But it’s not just Brewer. It’s everybody — crew, sound, lights. I’d say it’s 50-50 at best, maybe 40-60. But at this point I’m inclined to hold the dates.”

ON POSSIBLE SHOWS WITH FRIEND KID ROCK: “He firmly believes he’s going to be on tour in June. But he’s still finishing his new record. So he’s only talking about (scattered) dates, not a full-on, full-fledged tour. But if we can get us both going at the same time, sure.
“It certainly would be a thrill to do that. I’d love to do a couple of dates with him, anywhere.”

ON PREPARING FOR COBO, SITE OF 1975’s “LIVE BULLET” RECORDINGS: On Tuesday, “we did a 2-hour, 40-minute sound check … and that was just for ‘Nutbush’! By the time I played last night, in the middle of the show — sometimes I talk to myself up there — I said, ‘Oh man, I don’t know about doing Canada!’ (Laughs)

“I’ve got to get some distance from this. Six dates (this summer) — fine, that’s no skin off anybody’s back. I’ve got to decide in the next three weeks.”

ON RETURNING TO COBO AFTER 24 YEARS, AND THE ARENA’S ASSETS: “That was my idea. When we did that (recent news feature on) ‘CBS Sunday Morning,’ we walked in there. And I said, ‘Geez, it would be fun to play here again.’

“No. 1 is the sound quality there. When a building sounds good, it’s really fun to do. There are a lot of arenas that don’t sound great. I’d say 50 percent of them are set up for sports events, not concerts. Rupp Arena in Kentucky, Joe Louis Arena — you get a big, boomy thing, and it’s difficult for a singer.

“Then you get a building like Omaha, or Phoenix, or Cobo. The echo isn’t as bad. It knocks down on the 500 Bobs I have to hear at those other places. I can just hear the one Bob. I mean, I had to wear earplugs at Joe Louis last night.”

ON HIS MEMORIES OF THE “LIVE BULLET” NIGHTS 32 YEARS AGO: “It was really great. It was the first time, basically — or close to the first time — we’d ever headlined anywhere. So it was thrilling to be able to play everything we knew. We’d been playing (as opener for) other people, and playing for just 45 minutes, so to be able to try stuff and stretch stuff was really nice.

“God, we were just so strong then. We’d played so many nights. We were road dogs — five, six nights a week. So we were ready for it, because it such an exciting opportunity. After 11, 12 years of not headlining, playing small venues, here we were. We were on.”

The Masters Golf 2007 Practice Tickets

Masters Practice Tickets
Tickets to Masters practice days are much easier to come by than tournament badges, although you'll still need a little luck and a lot of cash.
Augusta resident Stöppler said that practice tickets usually run in the mid-$200-range per ticket. And practice tickets are more readily available through www.tixx.com

However, Masters practice tickets are actually still available for purchase by the general public from The Masters itself. A limited number of practice tickets are sold in advance by The Masters, by application only. Whether you get tickets - and how many you get - is the result of a random allocation among all applicants.

Applications for the next year's Masters are usually mailed around mid-year (in June for the following April's tournament, for example) to those who applied the previous year. But if you haven't applied previously, you can get yourself onto the list by mailing a request.

Send your request, including your name, address, daytime telephone number and Social Security Number, to:

VELVET REVOLVER perform for VAN HALEN at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Launch Radio Networks reports: VELVET REVOLVER has lined up two songs to perform for VAN HALEN at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Monday (March 12). The band will honor both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar by playing a song from their respective eras — for Roth, VELVET REVOLVER will play 1978's "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love", and for Hagar they'll play "Runaround" from 1991.
In addition to the performance at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland and lead guitarist Slash will induct VAN HALEN into the Rock Hall.

Hagar and original VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony will be at the ceremony, but it's unknown whether they will join VELVET REVOLVER on stage for the songs.

Roth says he backed out of the event after he was told he couldn't perform with VELVET REVOLVER. Guitarist Eddie Van Halen announced yesterday that he's going into rehab, and drummer Alex Van Halen will stay close to home to offer his brother whatever help he can.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which will also feature R.E.M., PATTI SMITH, THE RONETTES, and GRANDMASTER FLASH & THE FURIOUS FIVE, will air live on VH1 Classic beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET on Monday.

here is a review of the Foundation Room in Las Vegas
Foundation Room is open to the public for partying on Mondays

By JASON BRACELIN
REVIEW-JOURNAL
The lumpy dude in the fuzzy wuzzy blue-and-purple hat said it all without saying a word. His mere presence in the House of Blues Foundation Room spoke as loudly as his garish headgear, which looked as if it was fashioned from the hide of a punk rock muskrat.

Suffice it to say, he didn't seem like the type of guy who would plunk down $2,250 a year

for the privilege of sipping pricey cocktails beneath exotic paintings of a surrealist turkey and a black Jesus, which are among the many pieces of brightly colored folk art that adorn the Foundation Room's red upholstered walls.

But it was Monday night, the one evening of the week when this exclusive, members-only club high atop Mandalay Bay opens its doors to all.

Of course, you still have to dress to impress -- gaudy hats excepted, apparently -- lest you want to be forced to loiter in the crowded lobby on the ground floor of the hotel, waiting your turn as the beautiful people skip by.

Once inside the club, you can't help but feel like a high roller -- even if your pockets are no deeper than your navel. The place is festooned with gold-leaf ceilings, rich Indian fabrics, crackling fireplaces, ornate wood carvings of religious iconography and a patio that offers one of the best views of the Strip.

On Mondays, an evening dubbed "Godspeed," the music is as varied as the decor.

The club's dining room is converted into an '80s-leaning discotheque, where INXS and Rod Stewart rule.

Beneath shimmering Italian chandeliers, revelers hoist drinks on a dance floor made of fine Oriental rugs. Thick blue-and-maroon drapes hang from big floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the club's patio, 50 stories above the Strip.

In the Foundation Room lounge, house and trance is spun as a myriad of television monitors display nature footage of rock formations and desert skies. Think "Wild Kingdom" with beer.

Down a long hall decorated with black-and-white portraits of blues greats such as Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown and Henry Qualls, lies the Shangri-La Room, where hip-hop predominates.

The room is decorated with rich dark woods and ornate iron fixtures, giving the place the feel of an Old World cathedral -- an Old World cathedral where Young Jeezy sermonizes.

A small dance floor is roped off from a series of couches, where bottle service is offered, beginning at $275.

For the most part, you have to pay if you want to sit anywhere in this place.

On a recent Monday, the crowd was a mix of big money and small dresses. There were well-monied Foundation Room regulars, older gents in expensive sport coats who can afford a $1,500 bottle of fine Chateau Haut Brion wine, which tops the club's drink menu.

They pushed through the crowded throng of partyers, elbow to elbow with young blondes in jeans and half-shirts, dancing with their hands in the air, their eyeshadow as thick as the scent of incense that hung in the air.

The place gets packed, but with bars in each of the three main rooms, the lines for drinks are surprisingly manageable.

Plus, the traffic is somewhat dispersed by a series of private alcoves hidden in various nooks and crannies of the club behind drapes, such as the Ganesh Room and the Buddha Room, named after the religious figures whose likenesses dominate their decor.

These comfy hide-outs will still be off limits to most folks who show up on Mondays, but for a night, everyone can at least get a glimpse of the high life -- even if your finances are dwarfed by a big goofy hat.

Eddie Van Halen Checks Into Rehab its true....

Eddie Van Halen Checks Into Rehab
Posted Mar 8th 2007 5:52PM by TMZ Staff

The long awaited Van Halen reunion tour will be even longer-awaited -- Eddie Van Halen has checked himself into alcohol-related rehab.

In a statement to TMZ, the rock legend explains why he's determined to clean up his act:

I would like Van Halen fans to know how much I truly appreciate each and every one of you. Without you there is no Van Halen.

I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. That's why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110% that I feel I owe you and want to give you.

Some of the issues surrounding the 2007 Van Halen tour are within my ability to change and some are not. As far as my rehab is concerned, it is within my ability to change and change for the better. I want you to know that is exactly what I'm doing, so that I may continue to give you the very best I am capable of.

I look forward to seeing you in the future better than ever and I thank you with all my heart.

Love,
Ed

Eddie was scheduled to join the rest of his bandmates at the Rock and Roll induction ceremony in New York on Monday, where Van Halen will be enshrined. But unlike Lindsay and Britney, Eddie will not be leaving rehab for field trips.

411 on 3 big festivals

411 on 3 big festivals
Here's your guide to South by Southwest, Coachella and Bonnaroo music gatherings

Red Hot Flaming Stooges Rage Against the Björk Police? Scanning the lineups of 2007's national rock festivals can be dizzying.
Concert promoters have planned multiday blowouts — with reunions of Rage Against the Machine and the Police and quality emerging acts— along with ticket prices that will blow your tax return. And it's not just music-goers who are excited for festival season, either. Malajube will be playing the South by Southwest festival in Austin for the first time. Bassist Mathieu Cournoyer said his band got the lowdown on the festival from another Montreal band that has played it, the Dears.
"They just told us it was going to be a big (expletive) party. It's going to be crazy. . . . Our drummer is a big drinker, but he said he wouldn't drink until Texas just to be ready."
Here's our completely unbiased breakdown of the three national music festivals you must catch this spring — along with the lowdown on how to make the most of your traveling. We have do's and don'ts from festival veterans, festival ratings and some words with local music acts who plan to make the trip as performers and fans.
Also, check out two other festivals that may one day stand with the big ones, and three you can catch right here in Arizona.
Coachella
• What: Three-day music festival in the Southern California desert.
• When: April 27-29.
• Where: Indio, Calif.
• Mileage from Tucson: 362.
• Attendance: Some 55,000 per day.
• Cost: It's mostly sold-out, except tickets for April 27 (which cost $85).
• Genre: The West Coast's answer to East Coast music elitism. Brooklyn, where you at?
• History: It started back in 1999; performers have included Radiohead, Beck, Oasis, Nine Inch Nails, Madonna and the Beastie Boys.
• 2007 potential: Looks to be one of the festival's strongest years, with the reunion of Rage Against the Machine and Björk returning to the United States.
• Trump card: Rage Against the Machine.
• Lineup highs: Björk, Arcade Fire, Manu Chao.
• Lineup lows: Not many, but is there anyone out there who hasn't seen the Red Hot Chili Peppers' new material live yet who wanted to?

Velvet Revolver says spring US tour is a go

Velvet Revolver says spring US tour is a go
Velvet Revolver will go out on a tour of U.S. clubs and theatres sometime this spring to promote the release of its new album, Libertad, according to MTV. The group is already slated to hit South America in April with Aerosmith, but whether the U.S. dates will happen before or after that trip is yet to be determined. A full-scale North American tour is also in the works for the fall. The band has completed the recording of Libertad and while an official release date has not been announced, it's rumored to be arriving in stores on June 5th.

Libertad will follow Velvet Revolver's double platinum 2004 debut, Contraband.

Velvet Revolver will also participate in Van Halen's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12th in New York City. Singer Scott Weiland and guitarist Slash will give the induction speech, but it is not entirely clear at the moment whether Velvet Revolver will perform, which members of Van Halen will attend the ceremony and if any of them will perform as well.

All-Star Lineup Set For Rock On The Range Velvet Revolver

All-Star Lineup Set For Rock On The Range

March 7, 2007

As details of many of the summer's biggest festivals have been coming out over the past month or so, here's one more to add to your calendar: The first annual Rock On The Range festival, presented by Right Arm Entertainment and AEG LIVE. The big event is set for Saturday, May 19 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH, and the packed bill includes ZZ Top, Evanescence, Velvet Revolver, Hinder, Chevelle, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Buckcherry and Puddle of Mudd, plus up-and-comers The Operator and Black Stone Cherry. Even more bands for the all-day event will be announced shortly, and tickets go on sale this Saturday, March 10.

"This is a music festival that was not created with trendiness in mind. The only prerequisite at Rock On The Range is a passion for great Rock music and a good time," states organizer Del Williams. "We chose Columbus as the location for this national event because it's centrally located. And right there, in the heart of America, is where you'll find the epicenter of pure, no-strings-attached Rock & Roll." Joe Litvag of AEG LIVE added, "The idea of creating a unique rock festival in the heart of the country embraces AEG LIVE’s overall philosophy of the festival business."

SAMMY HAGAR Says EDDIE And ALEX VAN HALEN Will Not Attend ROCK HALL Induction - Mar. 7, 2007

SAMMY HAGAR Says EDDIE And ALEX VAN HALEN Will Not Attend ROCK HALL Induction - Mar. 7, 2007

Joel Selvin of the San Francisco Chronicle recently conducted an interview with Sammy Hagar. A few excerpts from the chat follow:

On VAN HALEN's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

"Would you have ever guessed? I wouldn't have either. I think I carved out a real stupid career in the sense that I was never loved by the press. I've received some awards with VAN HALEN. We got a Grammy, an American Music Award, MTV Awards and all that stuff. But Sammy Hagar is not the Bruce Springsteen kind of guy.

"I don't know how I screwed up. I haven't screwed up actually. I always had the reputation as a goofball, no respect as an artist, things like that. I never earned that. I told my band when I left VAN HALEN: 'I'm going to warn you guys about one thing — the venture we are going into now, this party we are throwing, we are never going to get respect from anyone. But the fans are going to love us. The fans are going to flock to us. We're going to be as big as anyone, but no one is going to respect us for doing it.' And, sure enough, I was right."

"If I was ever a genius at anything. I found everything I like to do and where I want to live and I rolled it all together. I got a business. I can play music at my business. I love tequila and that whole lifestyle, the Mexican food. I've got a Mexican restaurant. I have the tequila that goes with it. I have the whole lifestyle rolled into one. I love that Cabo Wabo lifestyle, which is beach all day, party all night."

On his Cabo Wabo tequila:

"No one can do what I do because to everyone else, it's a business. For me, it's become a business, but originally rock 'n' roll was my business. And so when I made tequila, I could do everything the right way. I could waste product. I could throw a lot away. You drain off the barrel. The bottom of the barrel is worse. You want the middle cut. We've always done it that way.

"For me, it was like a hobby. I had rock 'n' roll money. So I did it as a luxury and that's half the reason why Cabo Wabo is so good and pure because, like I said, I never had to make any money with it. I just got lucky. I didn't have to. I just wanted to make the best tequila in the world — big ego trip. It's like the Rothchilds of wine. Like the Rothchilds need money. They try to make the best frigging wine in the planet. They raised the bar is what they did."

On former VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony:

"He's my good buddy. It's not him and us against the others. He got thrown out of the band, too. I don't think Ed and Al are going [to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction]. The word I got from our management is that now they said they're not going. Roth'll be there. S -- , he's there right now. He's already got a room. I'm fine with him. I'm fine with Ed and Al. I don't talk to Eddie. I'm not mad at Eddie. I still love the guy. He's just hard to get along with.

"When we were all going, when they were gonna do their tour with Roth that just blew out — I could have told you that; I bet money that would never happen. I would love to see it. They owe it to the fans. They should do it. I believe it's the right thing for VAN HALEN to do is to do a David Lee Roth reunion. Look how long it's been. It's never worked. This is the fourth abortion. There's a lot of fans out there and they've been waiting a long time for this. And it's gotta happen someday. We did it — they should do it. Before it blew out, everybody was going. But the word now was, from Ed and Al, 'we're not playing.' "

On the other 2007 inductees:

"I'm really happy about PATTI SMITH. That's one thing I like about the Hall of Fame. I never expected to be inducted. I really didn't. I knew VAN HALEN would eventually somehow, someway, but it was still hard for me to imagine Sammy Hagar being part of it. But it is. I'm so honored. But someone like PATTI SMITH, who really had such a short, intense career. She did it so cool. She really deserves it for being such a rebel and being a girl at that time. She was cool. I think it's cool that they honor those kinds of people. Some awards shows don't. They go with the most commercial. Half the people don't know who PATTI SMITH is, but I think it's awesome. She was a true artist, a Neil Young kind of artist, where, s -- , man, you do it my way or forget it. I like that. I'm almost that kind of artist. For some reason, my art doesn't project that. But I'm that kind of person. I never cop out. I never sell out. I never endorse things. It's so funny. What did I do wrong? Or right?

"R.E.M. — another artsy band. I like R.E.M., they're not my kind of band, but they made some great records. GRANDMASTER FLASH. I don't own a GRANDMASTER FLASH record, but he was really the innovator. I like who they're recognizing this year. The RONETTES. How long have they been waiting? For Sammy Hagar to be a part of that crazy, eclectic group, I like that part of it. If it was BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, U2 and Sammy Hagar, I'd be this thin, little guy — oh, man, I'm going to get no respect at this thing. But with this eclectic group, I kinda fit in, quirky-wise."

Genesis plans stops in North America

Genesis plans stops in North America
By Jonathan Cohen
Mar 7, 2007, 20:44 GMT

As expected, the reunited Genesis will visit North America on a fall tour that begins Sept. 7 in Toronto, the group announced Wednesday morning (March 7) at a media event in New York. So far, 13 dates have been announced through Oct. 12 in Los Angeles but more will be added. Some tickets begin going on sale this weekend.

The trio, comprised of Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks, acknowledged they had discussions a couple of years ago with former members Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett about touring behind a complete performance of the 1974 album 'The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.'

But after Gabriel said he couldn`t commit due to obligations with a still-unfinished album, Collins, Rutherford and Banks decided to go out alone for the first time since 1992. "This is a separate thing," Collins said. "But 'Lamb' may still happen in a few years time."

Banks promised "there will be one or two songs that go back a bit farther" into the band`s back catalog than on previous tours, and that the familiar Genesis medleys will be part of the set list. Rutherford added that there will be more of an emphasis on Collins playing drums alongside Chester Thompson. "Two drummers is a very powerful sound," he said.

Interestingly, there is no corporate sponsor attached to the Turn It on Again tour, top seats for which will sell for $225. "We`re not doing it for the money, let`s face it," Collins said. "We`re not trying to come out of this with a fistful of dollars. It`s very rewarding to know there`s still people out there that liked us the first time around."

To supplement the reunion, Rhino will on April 24 release a 12-disc boxed set, 'Genesis: 1976-1981,' featuring newly remixed versions of the albums 'Trick of the Tail,' 'Wind & Wuthering,' 'And Then There Were Three,' 'Duke' and 'Abacab.' The sixth disc rounds up B-sides and rarities like the surprise hit "Paperlate" from the 1982 EP '3X3.' Each album will be augmented with a DVD featuring 5.1 audio mixes, new interviews, videos and photo galleries.

Banks added, "There`s talk of recording every show, and we still have quite a few [old shows] left [for potential release]. It is something I promise that`s in the back of our minds."

As previously reported, the reunion outing gets underway June 11 in Helsinki. The European itinerary closes with a free July 14 show in Rome. "In Italy, they used to break the doors down at gigs because they didn`t want to pay, so this seems like a good way to get around that particular problem," Banks said with a chuckle.
